I'm pleased with the gadget. Happier than I was with Sync, Alpine, or Garmin. I think about myself an 'Average' navigation consumer (not a beginner, not an professional) and will update the review after using it much more.
Sidenote: I ordered through Amazon, using "Beach Camera" seller. It had been delivered One (1) business day after I ordered it! I utilized 'Standard' shipping, and FedEx (Home service) had it delivered quick. Very happy with Beach Camera's shipping email messages and speed!
I believed I'd offer an update after 6 months of using this TomTom gadget:
1) I am still very pleased! It is the 1st GPS I have utilized that "just works" and I'm glad I don't need to mess with it.
2) I have mastered the technique of adjusting the screen position whilst simultaneously holding the suction base. Back again in Might when i initial reviewed it, I was concerned about how 'easily' it popped off. Now, it is still annoying, but I have minimized the amount of occasions it occurs by holding it appropriately. It does not annoy me sufficient to buy a different stand/holder.
3) The suction cup still holds on fairly nicely. It has not fallen off yet. (I attach/detach in the windshield each time I use it.)
four) Visitors Receiver: I have been satisfied with alternate directions/road closings. It's fairly correct, even in rural locations where I did not expect street closures to be displayed.
five) Long-distance travel: I have utilized it for a couple of long trips (1000+ miles) and had no problems in any way with it. I discovered the 'estimate' of time to be extremely correct. It had been no much more than ten minutes off. (I calculated time I stopped for gasoline and additional it towards the authentic estimate.)
6) Battery life: I have discovered the battery life to be holding a bit much less cost than it utilized to, but absolutely nothing that I feel is alarming. Most of time, I've the energy cord connected anyway (so I can grab the visitors updates with the antenna constructed in to the cord.)
Overall, this really is my preferred GPS. I have been hooking it up to the computer much less and much less (meaning I am forfeiting new 'map share' punition). I even made the decision NOT to get the newest map update. Why? Nicely, I feel everything is working just fine the way in which it is. I may update if I've the free time. This is in sharp distinction to my previous GPS experience, where I'd pray for updates to repair stubborn problems. The TomTom is simply fine and I've had no main grievances. I am NOT in the market to buy a new GPS because I'm lastly satisfied.
